Why do research?
BSU Students at the 2006 National ACS Meeting

A student’s decision to choose any major and, subsequently, persist in its completion is dependent on their academic and social experiences in college. Not only will a research experience enable the student to be more knowledgeable and experienced in their area, it will provide an opportunity for positive interactions with peers, graduate students, and faculty in their department that will strengthen their support network. As a result the student can more easily identify themselves with those in their discipline, and their commitment to the completion of their degree is enhanced.

What are your responsibilities as a LSAMP Scholar?

To contribute to your research project through literature search, data collection and scientific analysis, and
To present your findings in an oral and/or poster presentation.
